You want me to stick that where?

I really wanted to breastfeed my twins! Not sure exactly how they felt about it though! They were 5 lbs 9 oz and 5 lbs 12 oz, and my breasts were HUGE!!!!! So huge that when I met the plastic surgeon before my mastecomy, first thing he said was, YOU WILL definitely benefit from a breast reduction!

We tried for six weeks. The babies were exhausting themselves trying to nurse, and not be suffocated! I tried pumping so that they would get breast milk. It was crazy. . .wake up, pump, feed the babies and the 10 month old and the rest of the family, try cleaning up after breakfast. . .it's time to feed and pump again.

The twins ate small amounts but frequently! It felt like I was pumping or feeding the babies all day long! I could only maintain it for 6 weeks. My oldest daughter had surgery and I wasn't good enough at breastfeeding twins without being exposed and there weren't too many private areas at the hospital that would be a good place to do it.

I did much better with my last child. She was 7 lbs and 14 oz, and she could handle the massive breasts. Sadly, as we became experts at it, I was diagnosed with breast cancer so I stopped it immediately at 4 months.

I have to admit that it is a very special bond, and I loved the time and closeness I had with them. I would definitely try again if I had multiples again. . .wait, scratch that, I have much smaller breasts but they are not real! lol.

Best of luck, and enjoy whatever you decide is best for you and your family!
